Thought I should finally update to you all that I am still alive.... I actually ran a whole mile (yep you read that right, just 1) on Saturday to see how I felt and it wasn't too bad.  I went back to body sculpting today and I definitely have some core strength to revive from the dead.

At the end of August Rhett's parents came and stayed with us for a month to help us out during all our craziness....we had no idea how crazy it was going to get to so their stay was such a blessing.  It was the first time we had seen them since they returned from their mission in Tanzania.  They look amazing and we all had so much fun reconnecting...especially the kids.  We are all having withdrawls after being spoiled for a month with their company.

On August 30th I had my laprascopic hysterectomy and it went very well.  They made two small incision on my hips and one at my belly button.  It was way better than the 4 c-sections I have had.  There was no bleeding and the abdominal pain was very manageable.  The only funny thing is that it took the surgery center 3 hours to wake me up from general anasthesia...I guess I am a little sensitive to the meds.  My hubby, in-laws and kids were all great in letting me rest the first week....I really was able to do nothing but recuperate.  I wish I could say that life around me took a break as well but no such luck.

Two days after my surgery my dad called me at 5 am to tell my mom got up to use the restroom in the middle of the night and due to being so weak from being very sick for 2 months, she fell and hit her head.  At the hospital they did a CAT scan and found internal bleeding in her brain so they life-flighted her to Las Vegas and she has been there for 4 1/2 weeks as of today.  She was one sick person.   She had this huge head injury which has resulted in some mini-strokes with loss of short-term memory and speech problems. While there for the head thing they were able to figure out why she has been so sick for 2 months...she had a staph infection in her kidney!  She spent 3 weeks on IV antibiotics to kill the infection and working on the rehab floor with occupational therapists, physical therapists to try and get her strong enough to remove her kidney.  She had her one dead kidney out on Thursday and she finally gets to come home tomorrow.  It has been a long and scary ordeal but so many prayers have been answered on her behalf.  We now have quite a journey to rebuild her strength and get her mobile again.  I am just so glad she is coming home at all.... there were some pretty scary moments this summer.

So, trying to recuperate from major surgery, go to Vegas and see my mom, help take care of my dad and their house and try to get my own house finished after almost 5 months of construction ( the pathetic workers and insurance company don't warrant any further comments) it has been a crazy September.

2011 has continued to challenge me and my little family in every possible way but as I watched general conference this weekend I felt recharged to forge ahead better and happier.  Please send Rhett lots of love and happy wishes because he has truly had to live with a looney wife this year.  I can't wait to catch up on everybody's St. george race reports!!!
